Daily monitoring · evidence linked
Your competitors changed something this week.
rivl.watch reads their pricing pages, changelogs, app-store release notes and status pages every day — then tells you what moved, what it means for your product, and links the exact line it came from.

01/What we watch
Four kinds of page, read as structure — not as a diff.
Change-detection tools email you a red-and-green HTML diff and leave the interpreting to you. We extract each page into a fixed shape first, so a change is “Pro went from £49 to £59”, not “412 characters differ”.
Pricing
Pricing pages
Every tier, price, billing period and seat rule. Layout changes and A/B tests are classified as noise; a real price move is never dropped.
Changelog
Changelogs & release pages
Dated entries with their own titles and bodies, so “shipped last Tuesday” is a fact with a date on it rather than an impression.
Release
App-store release notes
iOS and Android listings by public lookup, with version, ship date and the notes themselves — the cheapest read on how fast a competitor actually moves.
Status
Status pages
Incidents, severity and duration from the standard status-page endpoints. Reliability is a competitive fact, and it is one nobody publishes in a deck.
Pages we cannot read — a login-walled changelog, a missing status page — are listed as coverage gaps on your dashboard. Silence about a source we never managed to fetch would be worse than no monitoring at all.
02/How it works
Set up once, in about ninety seconds.
The first report is the whole product in miniature: discovery, extraction and evidence, run against your URL while you wait.
01
Paste your URL
We read your own site first — what you sell, to whom, at what price. That profile is the lens everything else gets interpreted through.
02
We propose competitors
Five to fifteen, each with a reason and a link that backs it. You confirm, remove, or add the ones we missed. You know your market; we do the reading.
03
Sources get discovered
Pricing, changelog, status, app-store listing, docs, releases. Anything we cannot reach is recorded as a gap rather than quietly skipped.
04
We watch, daily
Every source, every day. A change counts only after it survives two consecutive reads, so a deploy mid-edit does not become an alert.
03/What you get
One digest a week. Nothing you have to go and check.
Each confirmed change is read against your own pricing and feature set, and every claim carries the excerpt it came from. A claim we cannot back with a snippet is not shown at all.
- Weekly digest on every plan. Daily if you want it, from Team up.

- Same digest into a channel, from Team up.

Halyard raised Pro from £49 to £59 per seat
You are now £10 cheaper on your closest comparable plan. Their pricing page still shows the old figure in the FAQ.

Corviq moved SSO from Enterprise to every paid plan
SSO is Enterprise-only on your pricing page. This is the second competitor to unbundle it this quarter.

Pinvault had a third degraded-performance incident this month
Total downtime 11h 40m since 1 August, against your 22 minutes.

Snapshots are kept forever. Nothing is deleted, so the excerpt still resolves a year later.
04/Pricing
Three plans. All of them cheaper than losing one deal.
Enterprise competitive-intelligence tools start at £1,000 a month and are sold through a demo. This is self-serve and monthly.

05/Questions
The ones we get asked.
How is this different from a change-detection tool?
Visualping and Distill tell you that 412 characters on a page changed. We extract the page into a fixed shape first — tiers and prices, dated changelog entries, incidents — so a change arrives as “Pro went from £49 to £59”, already read against your own pricing. The interpreting is the product; the diffing is table stakes.
How do you avoid crying wolf?
A change is only reported after it survives two consecutive daily fetches, so a mid-deploy page or an A/B variant does not become an alert. Layout churn is classified as noise before it reaches you — but a real price move is never discarded, even when we are unsure how to categorise it.
What happens when a page cannot be read?
It is recorded as a coverage gap on your dashboard, with the reason. A login-walled changelog or a missing status page is a fact about that competitor, and quietly omitting it would make the rest of the report untrustworthy.
Where does the evidence come from?
Every claim links to a stored excerpt of the page it was read from, with the date it was captured. Snapshots are never deleted, so a link in a digest from last March still resolves to what the page said in March — not to what it says today.
Do you watch social media?
Not in this version. We watch pages that are public, stable and worth quoting: pricing, changelogs, blogs, docs, status pages, GitHub releases and app-store listings. Social monitoring is a different product with a much worse signal-to-noise ratio.
Can I cancel?
Yes — monthly, self-serve, no call. Your snapshots and change history stay available for the rest of the billing period.
